HELP / GETTING STARTED

Make your first little edit.

Start with a nonsensitive PDF and try one supported edit in the watermarked preview. Keep the original close by.

01

Open the real editor

Use Open PDF editor, then choose a local PDF or try the editor’s sample. The marketing walkthrough does not accept files.

02

Select supported content

Choose an editable text run or image. Read any view-only or unsupported-content message before continuing.

03

Make a small change

Enter your wording, inspect it at a comfortable zoom and use undo/redo as needed. Original-font coverage is limited to supported characters.

04

Review the preview

Inspect your change and the surrounding page. Clean export and checkout are coming soon; this preview cannot download the edited PDF. Wait for Saved on this device before leaving. Recover draft restores the latest applied revision; keep your original file separately.

IF SOMETHING LOOKS WRONG

Describe the issue.
Keep sensitive files private.

Note your browser, the page number, the action you tried and the exact error wording. If possible, reproduce the issue with nonsensitive sample content. Do not share personal or financial documents as a default troubleshooting step.

The launch support channel has not yet been published. There is no submission form or configured support email in this preview.

Understand Guarded versus manual
BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Common questions.

Can I edit existing text?

Yes, when the existing text run is supported. The manual editor edits supported text and images, offers original-font handling within its capabilities, undo/redo, zoom and export. It identifies content it cannot safely edit.

Does it support every PDF?

No. PDF structures and fonts vary. The manual editor and Guarded prototype have different support boundaries. Check Supported PDFs before you begin. See supported files

Is Guarded Edit already using AI?

No. Its working local prototype uses a deterministic, fixture-based planner and wording supplied by you. Natural-language AI planning is planned, with no provider connected. This site’s walkthrough is a separate illustration.

Does the current workflow upload my PDF?

The inspected local editor and Guarded prototype process document bytes in your browser. They have no document-upload endpoint or AI provider. Local application scripts and PDF resources still load from the host; this does not describe a future cloud service.

Is “checked” an authenticity or compliance certificate?

No. It describes the supported technical checks on candidate bytes. It does not establish authenticity, legal validity, secure redaction or compliance. Mandatory failed or unchecked conditions block a checked result.

What happens when I close the tab?

Applied edits autosave as a recovery draft in this browser. Wait for Saved on this device, then recover the draft when you return. Keep your original file: clearing site data, private browsing or device loss can remove drafts. Clean export and cloud recovery are not available yet.

What does it cost during the preview?

Try manual editing free with a Powered by SnippyPDF watermark. Planned clean export passes are $2.99 for one document up to 10 pages or $4.49 for unlimited supported documents over 7 days. Checkout and clean export are not available yet. Future AI planning is separate and not connected.
